THE LAST SELF- ASSESMENT
Strange but it is true, this is the last time I'll do a self-assessment and as always I'm quite disappointed with myself.
I had a little hope that as it was the last therm I could give me the chance of showing myself that if I want I can reach all my goals. But, as always I haven't given enough.
I know that my marks will be okay but I won't feel them like mine, because in fact, I haven't study as hard as I know I could, looking at the units the afternoon before. i would have like to train myself, because next year it will be so hard and I'm not used of studying.
To be honest, I think I have improve my speaking skills. for me speaking is so important because I'm always caring about pronunciation and also I have feel more confident using it in speaking lessons.
Learning vocabulary is always useful so I try to memorise every piece of word (although sometimes is hard)
For me this bog has became my little diary, a place where sometimes I posted projects or thoughts, apart form vocabulary, Some people change it this year and I could do it too, I even thought about it but I get so used to this little forest that I couldn't find nothing as special as this . It 's true that sometimes (like this) I posted so late what the computer has always become a distraction to me and I tried to use it once I finished my other homework. I hope I can watch this bog some years from now and remember the same feelings I got now
I'm not afraid about my future in English because I know I go with a good base, what I'm afraid of is everything else. however this I try to focus in the present, living everyday in this high school , because although we all don't love it too much we will be miss it.
I can affirm that the last project was my favourite, I had lots of problems and I cried so hard with some memories but I did it and the effort worth it, so I can't complain. As well I think that (or at least I hope so) that my grammar skills have improve. it's the hardest part for me because I can't stand study something so hard and grammar requires hard working people.
As and end, I want to sen everyone a big huge. If you are reading me in a further future (what would be so cool) just I want to tell that, even tough I spent my days complain in fact t I love so much the guys I'm with, specially my friends, of course but also the other. I'm who I'm because I have grow with them, and although we had had bad moments I owe them too much. i want also to say thank you to my friends, I have lost so much time and now I have find the place where I belong. I'm lucky to be surrounded of amazing people and I'm happy to have realised since I start to meet them. Perhaps next year we won't be all together but I will try to not lost confidence with them. Thanks to make my life a little brighter every day
Love you :)

My P.E class
Exercises to avoid herniated disc.
Today we are going to work some areas and parts of our
body in order to avoid a possible lumbar hernia or a herniated disc (pinched
nerve)
But before we start exercising you must know what I’m
talking about.
The spine column is conformed of vertebras and
fibro-cartilaginous discs between them which function is supplying flexibility
and act like a cushion shock absorber of the movement between them. Each disc
it’s divided in two circles. The central one is call the nucleus and the
exteriors one is formed by a fibrous material that keep the gel nucleus save.
The herniated disc appears when, due to a big pressure
of the above and under vertebras the nucleus of the disc blow out, and, as
consequence it press a nerve root (per example of the sciatic nerve)
The next
exercies I’m going to show you are both for warm up and streching and weaking
the pain of the herniated disc.
Stretching are exercises in which the muscles is
subdue to a deforming pressure during variable period of time and in a determinate
speed. It improves range of motion, flexibility, circulation and the
overall success of your workout. These stretching exercises are divided in:
·
Statics (It does not involve bouncing
or rapid movements) which have two types too, actives (like pilates) and passives
(similar to static stretching, except that an apparatus or partner provides the
force to stretch the muscle)
·
Dynamic: dynamic stretching requires
more thoughtful coordination than static stretching (because of the movement
involved). As the statics one there are actives and passives types too.
·
Mixed or PNF stretching: is
often referred to as partner stretching because two people are needed to
perform the movements. There are
many forms but most involve an isometric hold followed by a static stretch of
the same muscle group
So let’s
start!
The warm up:
We jogging around the gym for two minutes. After that we are continuing jogging,
but mixing skipping, galloping, sliding, raising the knees, bring the heels to
the button (heel flicks on the spot). After that we are going to do joint
mobility: means performing different, gentle and repetitive movements with all
the joints: ankles, knees, hips, wrists, elbows, shoulders and neck.
Once we have warmed
up we are going to do the stretching. (For doing these exercises we will need a
mat)
1)
Doing lumbar circles.
Lying in the mat we raise our knees and take them
to the chest. Then, we are going to do 30 circles, switching the direction
every 3 circles. This exercise decompress the disc of the spine.
2)
Esquiotibial stretching
Taking
one leg to the chest and stretching the other in the floor. We are going to
stay there around 30 seconds. Then, we will switch the leg. This exercise soothe
the pressure that the esquiotibial makes in the lumbar area.
3)
Pyramidal stretching
We
cross one leg above the other, and with our arms we get the non-crossed leg
taking it to the chest. 30 seconds with each leg. The pyramidal muscle passes through
the gluteus and this movement soothes the pressure of the muscle.
4)
Sacroiliac freedom
Staying
in the same position of the pyramidal stretching we free our hands and move the
leg that is crossed completely crossed to the ground. We stay there 30 seconds
there and we are going to spin the entire hip to other side without changing
the position of the legs. Then, we switch the leg. As the name sais, this
exercise frees the sacroiliac joint.
5)
Camel and cat
Set
in four legs, we are going to curve our back imitating a cat shape while we breathe,
focusing in our pelvis movements. After 5 seconds we are going to curve down
our back, stretching our chest while we exhale the air we got. 5 seconds each,5
times. These movements help to decompress the lumbar area too!
6)
Superman
Continuing
setting in four legs we are going to raise one of our arms and the opposite
leg. Both must be horizontal and we have to try to stretch them as much as we
can. We are going to stay there 5 seconds and then switch,10 times each. This
exercise tone up back muscles.
7)
Prone prop
Now,
we are going to lie on the mat again. We are going to put our hands parallel with
our chest and we are going to do a push up. Be careful. Your hip must be down,
touching the mat. We are going to stay there 5 seconds and repeat it 6 times. This
movement push back the disc in, and also reduce the pain.
8)
Trunk extension
We
still are lying on the mat, looking down. We put our hands in the head and
trying to not raise the feet we raise a little our chest. 5 seconds, 5 times. This
exercise tone up the lumbar area
9)
Bridge
Lying
again, but this time faces up. Bend your knees and raise you hip almost to the
knees high. 5 seconds in that position and repeat it 5 times. This exercise
helps to strengthen our gluteus and quadriceps.
10)
lumbrosacro stretching /Mahometano
Being
in four legs again, bend you knees and curve your body pulling back, until your
button touches your ankles. Put your head under you arms and stay there 10-20
seconds. Repeat it for times. This exercise can be also use as a relax-exercise
during some workout, including these one. This exercise also decompresses the
lumbar area.
After
a physical effort it’s recommend to stretching, before and after the effort. Today
I have been showing you some stretching exercises that may be useful for your
warm up and cool down, as well as they prevent and help your back in case you
have a herniated disc.

SELF- ASSESSMENT
HI!
Today is time to reconsider all the work I have made during this second trimester .
First, I recognise it weren't my best months, and as a consequence my marks are lower. A lot of worries have join , and they have join with puberty so I usually have my mind in others worlds. I don't want to use these as an excuse because I'm enough old to responsible myself and it's my fault not knowing how to organise.
English has never been an easy subject, its a other language so it isn't enough to study only one part of it. However, I'm quite surprised of some of the listening we have made, I know our level has raised and I though I wasn't going to been able to understand some words, but it really shocked me when I realise I could understand most of the things I heard, not only in the records, The explanations and the conversations with the support native teacher were not very complicate to understand . It's the only thing I'm proud of, in fact.
Reading it's also something not really difficult to me, perhaps because I love reading and although for some people the English book is something unnecessary I really appreciate it, it sees us how English is written, the style of the authors and in what way some words can be use. Also I believe is really good for our minds, we are getting used to new lectures and with thinking we understand the words, at least I don't need to translate all the sentences. In this limited three months we have read two Allan Poe's tales (The Red Dead and The Pit and the Pendulum) such a famous writer and it was so cool to read him in his native language, in spite of this wasn't the case but some translation are horrible.
There are some skills were I'm comfortable in, but there are others, like grammar and speaking where I have to improve. I'm not very self confident and I don't study as much as I need so in mostly of my exams I doubt a lot, I'm never sure if what I wrote is correct even although somethings I really worked them. I need to practise more and start doing the exercises earlier so in case I have doubts I can asked my teacher next day. It's true that grammar is getting complicated and not it's not only study what we have seen in the main unit. it's time to change my mind and try to see this in other perspective. English on of the subjects I most worry to not study it only for the exams, learning other languages will help me and my generation to find a job easily, so whatever I learn know it's something I'll be already prepared in a future.
Speaking isn't based in study it hardly (well you need to know grammar to structure good the sentences) but for me pronunciation is so important, knowing all the grammar isn't going to help me if I don't know who to pronounce correctly. for that I try to copy the way English people speak, hear everything (or as much as I can) In English and pay attention of how my teacher pronoun words.
And finally Writing. I love writing (as you can notice) but it's the same problem as in grammar, I'm never sure about my writes, I have so much ideas during the exams that I always doubt, but I love to see myself expressing in other languages. Sometimes is quite upsetting not finding the exactly word that mach, but I believe it's improve our capacity to search for new ways to say the same!!!
To sum up, I need to work more and it will be the only way to improve myself, I must do my best every time and of course, does means I have to focus, to concentrate and to invest all my energies in only one thing. I always end my trimester disappointed with myself, but it's the first time I feel I can get better, I'm sure next trimester I will be more motivated!!! I will try to rock it!!
Hey! this doesn't finish yet. English subject is not only grammar, vocabulary, speaking listening and reading!! It has a very participative part: the projects. Projects are always very stressful for me because I really love to do them what means they should be perfect. This term we have made one about Gothic literature (related with Poe tales) and behind it we've put a lot of work that at the end have worth it a lot it, I'm so proud of how my classmate and I have summarise the information. You can click here to watch it!!!!!
In the bilingual programme, apart of having more hours than the other classmates without it we have another two subjects in English : P.E and ICT. In P.E we have learnt a lot , mainly in nutrition, one of my favourites topics and one of the less explained by my last physical education teachers! So I 'm very happy with the new information I got!! Also I've learnt a lot of vocabulary rationed with sport.
ICT it has been based in projects all the time. I have lost the number of new thing I have learnt. Now I can use free photoshop version to edit my version, drawings.., whatever I want! I also learnt to use Access and Inskipe tow programmes really useful. it's a pity that our computers don't work as they must because we could have done amazing things...
Finally I want to apologise, I should post this earlier but my computer crashed and I couldn't did it till know!!!! Also I must have to post more often and I don't have any excuse!!
See you soon and happy easter!!!!
